Bible Verses On Joy

The following compilation provides a biblical concept of joy. Please keep in mind that the verses are taken out of the original context. In order to gain a better understanding of the intended meaning I would encourage you to study each passage thoroughly. A careful systematic study ensures accurate interpretation of the biblical text. I hope you find this reference useful.

The unexpected horizons of Prayer

37 ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “I will also let the house of Israel inquire of Me to do this for them: I will increase their men like a flock. 38 Like a flock offered as holy sacrifices, like the flock at Jerusalem on its feast days, so shall the ruined cities be filled with flocks of men. Then they shall know that I am the LORD.”‘

This passage is from Ezekiel Chapter 36 in the New King James version of the Bible.

This particular passage is a reminder of the leeway that might be involved in prayer where the Lord gives some leverage on a situation or an allowance for a request to be put forth effectively.

Effective prayer can stretch in many directions in ways maybe known and mostly unknown.

This section of Ezekiel is a reminder to look yonder to the horizons of prayer that might be stretched further in ways that are unfathomable.

What exactly are the open doorways of prayer?

You can’t know or get the preciseness of what the Lord is doing in a situation as this is just beyond your personal scope.

Yet you can still within the prayer go into the major input of what the Lord might be doing.

How exactly the Red Sea parted was beyond the scope of any individual at the scene but the major input of what was happening there and then was readily apparent.

If someone has been running and training for a marathon all afternoon, they may have been thinking and imaging about other things while doing this but it could be said that a major input on the afternoon was a large amount of running.

The Lord is giving major input onto what his action might be in this passage although all the particulars as to how this might come about are not available and may never be fully available to the person or persons who are praying

Someone might pray in a given area and get spectacular results.  Some big reversal involving healing for many people might be one example.

But really what is revealed here in Ezekiel is that there are particular matters that the Lord wishes for us to inquire about.

These matters might be relatively small or they might be relatively large or even unbelievable.  But either way the Lord will let the request go through and address it and follow through with an answer that represents a new horizon

In this case, the cities were ruined, but the Lord was offering a new horizon where good things and good people would fill in that new horizon

But this happened was still to be a matter of inquiry and a matter of prayer.

For a given person today, in trying to figure out what to pray for or inquire for in prayer, these verses still serve as a model of seeking the lead of the Holy Spirit as to what to inquire for and to follow the lead into prayers in that possibly new and unexpected horizon.

This new found horizon within the realms of prayer may also be extensive, far reaching and much greater than you might have previously thought or imagined.

If you as the praying person, do get some wondrous answers in certain areas of you’re your prayer walk, look at that an indication to search through that horizon or area of prayer more extensively and go further into the invitation to prayer in new and fresh ways about this prayer horizon.

Another point from this passage is that these injuries and prayers are from the perspective of a ruined landscape or some sort of desolations.

It could be interpreted for example in psalm 23 that David is speaking of an unseen and unknown horizon when he is talking of the table before him and the cup overflowing, even while from the gloomy valley of trouble and desolation.

This shows that prayer doesn’t always have to take place in the best of conditions to have better leverage and it is a matter of the Lord giving that leeway and revealing and bringing forth that wondrous horizon right from where you are at and praying from.

Not the best of circumstances doesn’t let you off the hook prayer wise as far as praying for and believing for big things, whether it is involving yourself or matters of intercessions.

Due diligence is still required to see what is the business of the Lord and what he might be open for discussion on at this point.

Flying to Jupiter isn’t on the table for discussion but many wondrous things might be.

There is a duty to at least test the waters of prayer, see where the Lord is going and to bring the prayer time and focus further into those horizons that are being highlighted as important and as a pertinent area of further prayer discussion and destination.

For example, if you are interceding for some international city and there is witness from the Holy Spirit that this is pleasing as per the prayer, then maybe continue to intercede for that city and add in others on the international scene as this is an area of prayer that is coming into view as important,

If you care getting clear answers on a personal matter, see that as a horizon that you can keep in view prayer wise and hold with.

Some matters may be fixed and prayer isn’t going to change anything.

But that doesn’t preclude vast horizons of uncharted territory in prayer that should be traversed and looked for.

This passage from Ezekiel highlights the openness of the Lord to receiving acting on the prayers and inquiries of the faithful, something he doesn’t have to do but indeed may do.

Part of the journey of prayer is being sensitive to the presence of the Holy Spirit and being better able to discern and discover better courses of prayer and there might be a highlighting of certain areas of prayer in particular as in this case in Ezeki

Praising Children

Correctly praising children is important if you want them to develop positive behaviors, as well as encouraging positive behavior in the future. Praising your child allows them to feel positive feedback. This positive feedback helps to increase their self esteem, self confidence, and their abilities. When praising a child, you have pointed out their actions and behavior, or the person they are. This lets them know that they did something good. So when your child looks good or does something good, let them know. If your child is trying to do something that does not work out, praise them on their effort and the fact that they have tried. As a matter of fact, you should find something daily to praise your child on. You can constantly be on the look out for actions and behavior that you can praise them on, but you do not have to be over the top about it. You need to be honest and sincere when praising children. You should wait for good behavior that is unexpected or that you may not have noticed before, and then praise them for it. Be sure to praise them immediately, so that your child will know what exactly are being praised for. When you praise your child, be sure look him or her right in the eye. You can reinforce the good behavior or action by adding in little gestures. These gestures can include a nice smile or hug, or you can caress their face or scruff their hair.

When praising children, make sure you let them know exactly what behavior, action, or trait you are praising. But do not ever directly follow the praise with any negative comments or criticism. Before letting your child know what they did wrong or punishing them for misbehaving, let your child know what they did right and reward them for it.

Daily praising children on their good behaviors, traits, and actions is a good way to admire and congratulate your child for being the good person they are. It is also a very helpful action to take, as you will be helping to build up their self esteem and self confidence, as well as encouraging them to have positive behaviors, traits, and actions in the future.

Where is God?

Some say God is in heaven. Some say God is dead. Some say God is inside us, and some even specify the location: in our hearts. Some say God is nature untainted by human influence. Some say God is on Mount Olympus having fun with his friends. Some say God is so disgusted with us humans that he ran away to some unknown dimension. Some simply say God doesn’t exist. Many people don’t think about it too much and get along just fine.

One potentially useful way of looking at it is the following:

God is everything. (Not that God is IN everything, but that God actually IS everything.) You are God, your friends are God, your pet goldfish is God and the computer screen you’re looking at right now is God.

It’s about human perception. We like to see the world as separate things: this is a chair, that is a table, over there is a tree. We cut out a piece of reality, put it in a box, and attach a label to it.

We do it so many times that we confuse the label with the box and with the thing itself. We condition ourselves to see pieces rather than the wholeness.

So, God isn’t really hiding anywhere. God is in front of us, wherever we look. If we look for connection instead of separation, we can see the marvelous beauty of it all. An open heart and an open mind allows us to increase the flow of God’s energies within us and feel the oneness.

“…pretty much the same every year: to be a better person, a better Christian, a better husband, a better father and a better friend. Specifically, it is to complete my solo Christian CD and tour churches and Christian based outlets to spread the word of God, to help bring people to Christ. I believe the ‘real’ future is eternity, not the next 10, 20 or 30 years because against the backdrop of eternity those are very, very minute numbers. As much as I am concerned with the environment, the economy and our political stance on issues like war, genocide and famine, I am more concerned with where each and every one of us will spend eternity. Whether we like it or not there is one thing we all have in common and that is that one day soon we will have to stand before God and give an account of everything we’ve said and done in this body on this earth. So my ultimate resolution is to do my part to get as many people as possible to accept Jesus Christ as their savior and spend their eternal ‘future’ in Heaven.” – gospel artist Eliot Sloan (Blessid Union of Souls)

How to Enter Into The Presence of God During Prayer

The following sequential steps or pattern of entering into the presence of God during prayer will help you to get answers to your prayers faster and easier.

1. Recognize God by mentioning His various names, when you are just trying to get attention from God as you are entering into his presence. You can mention or call on his names such as Elohim, Abba Father, The Most High God, The Holy and True God, Jehovah shammah, Etc. Calling on his names, will cause God to focus his attention on you more closely at this time, because you are glorifying and ministering to Him.

2. Adore, praise, thank, and worship God because of his goodness, and greatness seen in your life and others. Examples, ‘ Lord I praise, you ‘,  ‘ I worship you for you are God, beside thee there is none else ‘,  ‘ Lord, You are excellent, wonderful, marvelous ‘,  ‘ Lord, there is none like You in heaven and on earth ‘, etc.

Here you demonstrate by bowing down your head, or kneeling down, or lifting up, your hands to Heaven, etc. You can adopt one of these modes or a combination of two, three, or more modes, at a time, or at times you vary your mode depending on how you are moving in the Spirit.

You can also sing songs of praise and worship Him, especially worship and praise worship songs. Examples of songs to sing are: a) You are worthy to be praise, Abba Father (2 xs), from generation to generation, Lord You are worthy, worthy to be praise.

Just be in the Spirit and spiritual songs will just be pouring out to you to use and worship God. After singing about two to five songs or as led, stop, and begin to thank and bless him for numerous blessings.

These songs that are poured out of your heart, come by the help of the Holy Spirit, and are called inspirational songs, although, you can make use of already known songs and choruses of praise and worship or hymn book or song sheet.

The songs that pour out of your heart, have a more lasting impact on you and causes God to throw out His scepter or staff of authority more easily, inviting and opening up to you fully for His access.

At this time you have taken a more definite step to draw near to God, and He in turn does same. More so, at this time, He becomes fearful in praises, glorious in holiness, and doing wonders. What you have actually done is that you have tried and turned the knob of the door into his presence and gotten his acceptance to enter.

3. Confess Your sins

At this point, confess your sins, especially known sins. Mention them if any and ask for forgiveness and repent. Confess your frailties, weaknesses, and short-comings.

If you want to gain some one’s attention, you must first of all, go to him, call his name or names – including names that will make him happy, after that you can now ask him to forgive you for any wrong or hurt you did to him.

In other words, you are trying to gain his acceptance of you before you reconcile with him. These you have done as you were trying to enter into God’s presence by first gaining his acceptance, as outlined above. Now reconcile with Him by confessing, repenting, and forsaking all sins

4. Ask for Empowerment

Solicit for grace, restoration, strength, holiness, and spiritual beauty

5. Enter into Intercession

At this time, prayer or remind God about others who need your prayers. The book of first Timothy chapter two verses one to four, point out the need to first of all pray for others.

Prayer for kings, presidents, governors, ministers, pastors, evangelists, etc. pray for your nation and other nations too.

6. Ask God what you want

At this point ask the lord what you want. For example, financial breakthrough, purity of heart, marital breakthrough, etc. Tell God one by one, all you want Him to do for you, and believe that he has answered. Accept god’s will and submit to God’s will to be done.

Ask for anointing upon your life and success in life and ministry. All your prayers must be directed to God in Jesus name, by saying something like this, ‘O lord, purify my heart from malice, in Jesus name ‘.  The name of Jesus is your seal for answers to prayer. Remember to back up your prayers with the word of promise from God’s word.

7.  Thank God for answers

Give God thanks for prayer answers. This shows faith and confidence in God in anticipation for your answers.

8. Glorify God

Give God the glory for what you have asked. Sing to him some praises for answers to prayer.

Note: In asking, making a request, or intercession, do the following:

a. Back up your request with God’s word.

Quote or read a promise by God. For example, if you are sick, quote or read Exodus chapter 15 verse 26.

b. Always pray in the Spirit, in your request or prayer.

Tell the Holy Spirit that I know not how to pray as I ought concerning this request, but I trust you to help me do. Then start praying in the Spirit, as the Spirit gives you utterance.

Did Jesus Christ Live in India?

The Russian scholar, Nicolai Notovich, was the first to suggest that Christ may have gone to India. In 1887, Notovich, a Russian scholar and Orientalist, arrived in Kashmir during one of several journeys to the Orient. At the Zoji-la pass Notovich was a guest in a Buddhist monastery, where a monk told him of the bhodisattva saint called “Issa”. Notovich was stunned by the remarkable parallels of Issa’s teachings and martyrdom with that of Christ’s life, teachings and crucifixion.

For about sixteen years, Christ travelled through Turkey, Persia, Western Europe and possibly England. He finally arrived with Mary to a place near Kashmir, where she died. After many years in Kashmir, teaching to an appreciative population, who venerated him as a great prophet, reformer and saint, he died and was buried in a tomb in Kashmir itself.

The first step in Christ’s trail after the Crucifixion is found in the Persian scholar F. Mohammed’s historical work “Jami-ut-tuwarik” which tells of Christ’s arrival in the kingdom of Nisibis, by royal invitation. (Nisibis is today known as Nusaybin in Turkey) . This is reiterated in the Imam Abu Jafar Muhammed’s “Tafsi-Ibn-i-Jamir at-tubri.” Kersten found that in both Turkey and Persia there are ancient stories of a saint called “Yuz Asaf” (“Leader of the Healed”), whose behaviour, miracles and teachings are remarkably similar to that of Christ.

The many Islamic and Hindu historical works recording local history and legends of kings, noblemen and saints of the areas thought to be travelled by Jesus also give evidence of a Christ like man; the Koran, for example, refers to Christ as “Issar”. Further east, the Kurdish tribes of Eastern Anatolia have several stories describing Christ’s stay in Eastern Turkey after his resurrection. These traditional legends have been ignored by the theological community.

Kersten also suggests that prior to Christ’s mission in the Middle East, he may have been exposed to Buddhist teachings in Egypt. After his birth in Bethlehem, his family fled to Egypt to avoid Herod’s persecution. Surprisingly some scholars now acknowledge that Buddhist schools probably existed in Alexandria long before the Christian era.

More clues are drawn from the Apocrypha. These are texts said to have been written by the Apostles but which are not officially accepted by the Church. Indeed, the Church regards them as heresy since a substantial amount of the Apocrypha directly contradicts Church dogma and theology. The Apocryphal ‘Acts of Thomas’, for example, tell how Christ met Thomas several times after the Crucifixion. In fact they tell us how Christ sent Thomas to teach his spirituality in India. This is corroborated by evidence found in the form of stone inscriptions at Fatehpur Sikri, near the Taj Mahal, in Northern India. They include “Agrapha”, which are sayings of Christ that don’t exist in the mainstream Bible. Their grammatical form is most similar to that of the Apocryphal gospel of Thomas. This is but one example giving credibility to the idea that texts not recognised by the Church hold important clues about Christ’s true life and his teachings.

In tracing Christ’s movements to India and beyond, Kersten also discovered that many of his teachings, which have been gradually edited out of the modern Bible were originally Eastern in nature. Principles such as karma and re-incarnation, for example, were common knowledge then, and seem to have been reaffirmed by Christ. Imagine the implications that this discovery holds for Western Christianity and its churches, who have kept Christ in their doctrinal top pockets and have constrained the entire Western culture within the narrow teachings of blind faith, organised religion and original sin!

Further clues are cited from The Apocryphal Acts of Thomas, and the Gospel of Thomas which are of Syrian origin and have been dated to the 4th Century AD, or possibly earlier. They are Gnostic Scriptures and despite the evidence indicating their authenticity, they are not given credence by mainstream theologians. In these texts Thomas tells of Christ’s appearance in Andrapolis, Paphlagonia (today known as in the extreme north of Anatolia) as a guest of the King of Andrappa. There he met with Thomas who had arrived separately. It is at Andrapolis that Christ entreated Thomas to go to India to begin spreading his teachings. It seems that Christ and Mary then moved along the West coast of Turkey, proof of this could be an old stopping place for travellers called the “Home of Mary”, found along the ancient silk route. From here Christ could easily have entered Europe via France. He may have even travelled as far as the British Isles, for in England there is an ancient oak tree called the “Hallowed Tree” which (says local legend) was planted by Christ himself.

In his travels through Persia (today’s Iran) Christ became known as Yuz Asaf (leader of the Healed). We know this because a Kashmiri historical document confirms that Isa (the Koranic name for Christ) was in fact also known as Yuz Asaf. The Jami – uf – Tamarik, Volume II, tells that Yuz Asaf visited Masslige, where he attended the grave of Shem, Noah’s son. There are various other accounts such as Agha Mustafa’s “Awhali Shahaii-i-paras” that tell of Yuz Asaf’s travels and teachings all over Persia. It seems that Yuz Asaf blessed Afghanistan and Pakistan with his presence also. There are for example two plains in Eastern Afghanistan near Gazni and Galalabad, bearing the name of the prophet Yuz Asaf. Again in the Apocryphal Acts of Thomas, Thomas says that he and Christ attended the Court of King Gundafor of Taxila (now Pakistan), in about 47AD, and that eventually both the King and his brother accepted Christ’s teachings. Kersten claims that there are more than twenty one historical documents that bear witness to the existence of Jesus in Kashmir, where he was known also as Yuz Asaf and Issa. For example the Bhavishyat Mahapurana (volume 9 verses 17-32) contains an account of Issa-Masih (Jesus the Messiah). It describes Christ’s arrival in the Kashmir region of India and his encounter with King Shalivahana, who ruled the Kushan area (39-50AD), and who entertained Christ as a guest for some time.

{Christ’s life in India, after the crucifixion, challenges current Church teachings at their very foundation. The theology of Saint Paul, the major influence on modern Christianity, is empty fanaticism in the light of this discovery.|

The historian Mullah Nadini (1413) also recounts a story of Yuz Asaf who was a contemporary to King Gopadatta, and confirms that he also used the name Issar, ie. Jesus. There is also much historical truth in the towns and villages of Northern India to prove that Jesus and his mother Mary spent time in the area. For instance, at the border of a small town called Mari, there is nearby a mountain called Pindi Point, upon which is an old tomb called Mai Mari da Asthan or “The final resting place of Mary”. The tomb is said to be very old and local Muslims venerate it as the grave of Issa’s (ie Christ’s) Mother. The tomb itself is oriented East-West consistent with the Jewish tradition, despite the fact it is within a Muslim area. Assuming its antiquity, such a tomb could not be Hindu either since the Hindus contemporary to Christ cremated their dead and scattered their ashes as do Hindus today.

Following Christ’s trail into Kashmir, 40km south of Srinagar, between the villages of Naugam and Nilmge is a meadow called Yuz-Marg (the meadow of Yuz Asaf, ie. Jesus). Then there is the sacred building called Aish Muqam, 60km south east of Srinagar and 12km from Bij Bihara. “Aish” says Kersten is derived from “Issa” and “Muqam” place of rest or repose. Within the Aish Muqam is a sacred relic called the ‘Moses Rod’ or the ‘Jesus Rod’, which local legend says, belonged to Moses himself. Christ is said to also have held it, perhaps to confirm his Mosaic heritage. Above the town of Srinagar is a temple known as “The Throne of Solomon”, which dates back to at least 1000BC, which King Gopadatta had restored at about the same time as Christ’s advent. The restoration was done by a Persian architect who personally left four inscriptions on the side steps of the temple. The third and fourth inscription read: “At this time Yuz Asaf announced his prophetic calling in Year 50 and 4″ and “He is Jesus — Prophet of the Sons of Israel”! Herein lies a powerful confirmation of Kersten’s theory. Kersten suggests that Christ may have travelled to the South of India also, finally returning to Kashmir to die at the age of approximately 80 years. Christ’s tomb, says Kersten, lies in Srinagar’s old town in a building called Rozabal. “Rozabal” is an abbreviation of Rauza Bal, meaning “tomb of a prophet”. At the entrance there is an inscription explaining that Yuz Asaf is buried along with another Moslem saint. Both have gravestones which are oriented in North-South direction, according to Moslem tradition. However, through a small opening the true burial chamber can be seen, in which there is the Sarcophagus of Yuz Asaf in East-West (Jewish) orientation!

According to Professor Hassnain, who has studied this tomb, there are carved footprints on the grave stones and when closely examined, carved images of a crucifix and a rosary. The footprints of Yuz Asaf have what appear to be scars represented on both feet, if one assumes that they are crucifixion scars, then their position is consistent with the scars shown in the Turin Shroud (left foot nailed over right). Crucifixion was not practised in Asia, so it is quite possible that they were inflicted elsewhere, such as the Middle East. The tomb is called by some as “Hazrat Issa Sahib” or “Tomb of the Lord Master Jesus”. Ancient records acknowledge the existence of the tomb as long ago as 112AD. The Grand Mufti, a prominent Muslim Cleric, himself has confirmed that Hazrat Isa Sahib is indeed the tomb of Yuz Asaf!

Thus Kersten deduces that the tomb of Jesus Christ Himself is in Kashmir!

The implications of Kersten’s discovery are monumental. Christ’s life in India, after the crucifixion, challenges current Church teachings at their very foundation. The theology of Saint Paul, the major influence on modern Christianity, is empty fanaticism in the light of this discovery. Threatened also are the doctrines of obedience to the Church, original sin, salvation through blind faith and the non-existence of reincarnation, etc. Yet these ideas underlie the morality and ethics, (or lack of them), that govern the entire Western social structure, from the legal system to medical health care schemes. It is no wonder that the modern Churches and their secular interests refuse to consider such a proposition as Kersten’s!
